The Redshift Planetarium 5.0 is a software simulation program that models outer space and offers users a virtual planetarium that will guide and teach them astronomy.
Users are provided wiht this program on CD-Roms and its graphic Windows’ style interface presents a familiar interface experience for them. The program features all known moons of the planets, the planets, and in this section, users can view orbits and dozens of moons. The program includes a Macroplayer that users can launch which will take them on a virtual tour of space. In deep space, users can add images of deep space objects obtained from external sources and place them in the correct place in space. The Redshift Planetarium 5.0 interface has a multi-window mode allowing users to simulate seeing the same celestial object events in different earth time zones.
This program includes a library of over 20 million celestial objects including 20 million stars, the Milky Way, thousands of deep space objects, nebulae and galaxies. Maps of planets and moons are featured based on the best images available from space missions, and with solar eclipse maps users can define the best places on Earth to observe solar eclipses by studying the program’s vector maps of their paths.
